Pembroke Pines, FL - For years, the world has recognized a need for competent professionals who can effectively manage complex security issues that threaten people and the assets of corporations, governments, and public and private institutions. As the emphasis on protecting people, property, and information increases, it has strengthened the demand for professional managers. To meet these needs, the ASIS International administers the Certified Protection Professional program. Nearly 10,000 professionals have earned the designation of CPP.
This group of professionals has demonstrated its competency in the areas of security solutions and best-business practices through an intensive qualification and testing program. As a result, these men and women have been awarded the coveted designation of CPP, and are recognized as proven leaders in their profession.
On June 24, 2005, Mr. Elvis Acosta, President and CEO of Eagle Resolutions & Resources International, Inc. (ERRII) and subsidiaries, was designated a CPP. “The study process for this designation was certainly long and arduous only because I was recalled to active duty to support our Global War on Terrorism. The CPP Review session I participated in and the self-study program I developed with the assistance of my ASIS International Chapter in Houston, Texas afforded me the opportunity to excel. I could not have accomplished this tenuous feat without them”, Mr. Acosta said. Mr. Acosta further stated, “Every high level official in the private security industry, and state, local and federal government should become CPP certified. The CPP designation benchmarks the individual designee and the organization they are assigned to as true leaders in the industry.”

Pembroke Pines, FL - Polygraph testing is becoming increasingly important in sex offender treatment. Polygraph advocates cite dramatic increases in historical disclosures that presumably allow more precise targeting of treatment interventions, earlier detection of risky behaviors that often lead to new offenses, and improved treatment and supervision compliance. Based on this, they believe the procedure supports desirable behavior that continues to various degrees after treatment and supervision end. Sex offenders be administered a court ordered polygraph examination as a Supervision and Treatment Tool. The polygraph examination verifies whether or not that they have violated the terms of their probation or parole.
A polygraph examiner that administers theses type of exams must undergo a 40-hour advanced polygraph examiner course which meets the requirements of the American Polygraph Association (APA) and the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM). It is a testing technique that has been used in this country effectively for the last 10 years to monitor paroled sex offenders. Offenders undergo a polygraph examination usually twice a year to ensure they are not re-offending while on parole or probation. This tool has been tremendously effective in reducing recidivism.
Mr. Acosta, President and CEO of Eagle Resolutions & Resources International, Inc. (ERRII) and subsidiaries, attended the Post Conviction Sex Offender Testing (PCSOT) program through the Maryland Institute of Criminal Justice in Millersville, Maryland. "Polygraph is not a perfect science, but validated scientific research has proven that when the examination is conducted by a competent examiner using validated testing techniques, its accuracy exceeds many medical tests that are used throughout the world to detect cancer and other serious abnormalities", Mr. Acosta said. Mr. Acosta continued, "The administration of PCSOT examination is necessary when working in the treatment triangle with the treatment provider and the probation and parole officer. We must take the necessary measures to minimize our children's exposure to sexual preditors. We do that through PCSOT."
